Hello and welcome to my website, I am indeed blessed to be able to call home one of the most stunning areas in the UK, the Cairngorms National Park, where I run my photo library and wildlife photography tours, focusing on a wide range of iconic species and locations near to my home and throughout the rest of Scotland.
My work is widely published and used in many national magazines and newspapers and also by organisations like Scottish Natural Heritage and the Cairngorms National Park Authority and the John Muir Trust. In addition to these my images have also featured in over 25 books.
Over the years I have been fortunate to have won several awards including the Eric Hoskings Award twice in the Veolia Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition also a category runner up and a further four images highly commended. In the 2012 British Wildlife Photography Awards my Red Deer Stag image won the portraits category and 4 other images have been highly commended in that competition. Also for the past 4 years I have been one of the four judges in the Scottish Wildlife Photography awards.
My thought process and why I take pictures is a simple one, basically its my vision and communicating what I have seen in the wild. That single image allows me to share these never to be repeated moments with others.
For the future my aim is simple, to enjoy, appreciate and be inspired by the wildlife and landscape of Scotland and beyond, by doing this I then hope that when others see my images it will have a similar effect on them.
Many thanks for coming to look at me website and I hope very much you enjoy looking at my images and tours .
