Ospreys, Red Squirrels & Gannets 2016

Ospreys, Red Squirrels & Gannets 2016  (Group size 6, now fully booked )

Cost: £525 (Non refundable deposit of £75 to secure place. Final balance payable 6 weeks prior to trip.)

10th – 12th August 2016

This tour will focus on 3 of our most charismatic species: the Osprey, Red Squirrels and Gannet. The three day trip will include 2 early morning sessions at a secluded lochan specifically made for the diving Ospreys. We will have exclusive use of the hides over both mornings for this very addictive experience. Early morning Osprey diving sessions will be on the mornings of 10th & 11th Aug . Unguided visit to Osprey hide will also be available on both these afternoons and evenings – these are optional sessions.

After you return to your accommodation for breakfast after the Ospreys we will then meet mid morning for sessions on both these days to photograph the Red squirrels looking splendid in their red summer coats in a beautiful woodland setting.

Day three we will head over to the east coast to spend the day photographing the sleek, most beautiful of all the seabirds, the gannet.

Included in this trip:

  • 2 early morning exclusive diving Osprey sessions with optional afternoon / evening unguided sessions available
  • 2 mid morning Red squirrel sessions
  • 1 day Gannets photography
  • Tuition
  • Any local rail transfers from Aviemore station.

Accommodation is not included allowing you to choose your own level of accommodation. I would strongly recommend that you book in Aviemore area due to the 2 early morning Osprey sessions. For recommendations of places to stay please get in touch.

Equipment
For Ospreys a lens around the 300mm and 400mm is best and I would also recommend a tripod or a beanbag.  For Red Squirrels and Gannets a slightly larger lens of around 500mm is ideal, or a 300mm with ¼ converter and again better with a tripod.
